The tEVM uses native TLOS to pay for gas, which requires that you have TLOS on your EVM account to do transactions. To deposit TLOS to your EVM address, you need to transfer it from a Telos native account. TLOS can be purchased on the web-wallet or through one of the official portals listed on telos.net.

This article describes the primary methods used to deposit TLOS on the tEVM.

You will need a TLOS account. If you don’t have a Telos account, follow these simple steps.

There are multiple methods to deposit TLOS on the tEVM:

  1. Telos Wallet
  2. Gate.io
  3. pNetwork Bridge (Transfer from Ethereum or BSC)
  4. Kucoin
  5. Multichain Bridge

Access an updated guide to bridges between TLOS and other blockchains here.

Use this video as a guide, or follow the steps below:

Method 1: Telos Wallet

Depositing TLOS from telos native account

After acquiring TLOS, you can send it to your EVM address using the Telos Wallet, which you can also use to send to other EVM addresses such as Metamask. Make sure you have added the Telos EVM network to your Metamask.

1. Log in to the Telos Wallet
2. Click on the deposit to EVM button (as shown below).

3. Enter the amount of TLOS you wish to deposit.
4. Click 'Deposit' and sign the transaction.

You should now see your new EVM balance.

Method 2: Gate.io

Direct deposit on Gate.io

If you currently have TLOS on Gate.io, you can deposit it to your EVM address.

  1. Log in to your account and go to 'Wallet' - 'Deposit'
  2. Select 'to Address'
  3. Select the network as Telos EVM
  4. Enter your tEVM address
  5. Add the amount of Telos to deposit
  6. Click 'Submit Request'
  7. You will be asked to confirm the details of the transaction

You can refer to the Gate.io guide for more instructions

Method 3: pNetwork

Tranfer TLOS on Ethereum and BSC directly to Telos EVM using pNetwork

pNetwork now supports Telos EVM. This means you can move your TLOS tokens on Ethereum and BSC directly to Telos EVM using pNetwork bridge.

  • To transfer TLOS on Ethereum, go to: https://dapp.ptokens.io/swap?asset=tlos&from=eth&to=telos
  • To transfer TLOS from BSC, go to: https://dapp.ptokens.io/swap?asset=tlos&from=bsc&to=telos
  1. Connect your wallets: Ethereum or BSC
  2. Set amount of TLOS you want to transfer. Minimum amount is 100.
  3. Under ‘To’ section in the field ‘to address’ please add your Telos EVM address
  4. Select: Receive on a tEVM (Telos EVM) compatible address
  5. Click ‘Swap’

Method 4: KuCoin

Withdrawing TLOS from KuCoin to any EVM address

If you currently have TLOS on KuCoin, you can withdraw it to your EVM address.
  1. Enter the wallet address deposit.evm (always use this address)
  2. Use your EVM address as the Memo
  3. Add the amount of Telos to withdraw
  4. Click 'Confirm'

Method 5: Multichain

Sending TLOS from decentralized exchanges (DEX) to EVM using Multichain Bridge

If you currently have TLOS on BSC, you can withdraw it to your EVM address using Multichain.

Notes before you start:

  • Before moving forward, downloading and installing a wallet are a must (MetaMask wallet is used as an example for instructions). You need to either create a new MetaMask wallet or import an existing one.
  • The default network setting in MetaMask is Ethereum Mainnet, which means you will need to set up MetaMask on Telos Mainnet.

Important Note

Multichain router allows users to swap assets between two chains arbitrarily. Before your first swap on Multichain Exchange, contract approval is required with every token that interacts with a contract. It is a one-off process, and you will not go through it again when it comes to the same token.

Steps:

  1. Go to Mutichain.org
  2. Connect your Wallet (eg. Metamask)
  3. To set up your network:
    1. Click ETH Mainnet
    2. Select Telos Mainnet
    3. Click 'Approve'
    4. Click 'Switch Network'
  4. Make sure Telos network is connected
  5. Select your token from the drop-down menu
  6. Enter the amount you want to transfer
  7. Click network tab and select destination chain from the drop-down menu
  8. Click 'Approve"
    • Once approved, a small notification window will appear. Click to see the details if you want to.
    • Alternatively, you can find transaction records according to the following steps. Contract approval is a must-do for every token with a contract. Next time, you can go swap directly.

Send funds from EVM to Metamask

Here are the steps to send funds from the EVM account to your Metamask account.

  1. Go to Chainlist
  2. Select "Telos EVM Mainnet"
  3. Connect your MetaMask & add the network

Telos EVM is now in your MetaMask. Your new EVM address is shown at the top, under your account name.
